Why Come to Barbados?

Why Come to Barbados?

It is no secret that the Caribbean is one of the hottest and attractive holiday destinations. Each Caribbean island has their own set of attractions to entice visitors but we choose Barbados as the #1 Caribbean destination. Why? Because it is the ideal tropical paradise. But, don’t take our word for it:

The Weather

Barbados is virtually sunny all year round except throughout the Hurricane season which runs from June to November. Even then however, it is mostly sunny and windy and is the ideal paradise escape from cold and frigid weather. Temperatures are often between 24o C and 30o C and the amazing, picturesque sunsets will leave you breathless.

The Beaches

The island has a wide array of beaches all white and sandy. For those who wish to catch some waves on their stay, the beaches on the south coast are ideal for surfing while the west coast beaches are ideal for relaxing and sunbathing. Also, most beaches in Barbados offer water sport activities for those looking for more adventurous activities to do while on the beach.

The Activities

From snorkeling during the day, to partying in the Gap at night, there is no shortage of activities to do in Barbados. The island doesn’t just cater to persons looking to enjoy the nightly festivities but has a wide range of day activities to enjoy. Cave exploring, sightseeing, glass bottom boat experiences, watersports, horseback riding, sipping and sampling the best rum in the world; you name it, Barbados has it.

The Culture

This can tie in with the activities as many of the sightseeing tours and other visits to historical sites will expose you to the past and present culture and history of the island. But the main cultural attraction is our Crop Over Festival held during the summer. Enjoy the bands, the music and the parties. It is a true explosion of the island’s culture and a huge attraction for many travelers to the island.

Destination Weddings

With destination weddings becoming increasingly popular, why not choose Barbados for yours? Imagine dipping your feet in the cool white sandy beaches and saying I do to the one you love surrounded by an amazing tropical atmosphere and your close friends and family. Or imagine getting married on Barbados’ open waters. However, you choose to get married, Barbados is ideal for destination weddings especially due to the wide variety of high end hotels where you and your guests can enjoy your stay, some of which offer wedding packages complete with your very own professional wedding planner.

Honeymoon Destination

Whether or not you choose to get married in Barbados, it is also a fabulous destination for a honeymoon: the perfect tropical escape. Calm eaters, endless white sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, big waves, beautiful scenery and loads of activities to do for newlyweds.

The Food

Barbados has many restaurants all serving a variety of cuisine to suit any taste, offering you the culinary experiences of your lifetime. Most of these are located on the west and the south coast, the main tourist hubs on the island. Enjoy beachfront and à la carte dining, indoor dining and even dining surrounding by music and entertainment. Also, the street food in Barbados, especially in Oistins, is also a good bet if you are looking for something a bit more casual.

The Hotels

From homey villas to luxurious 4 and 5 star hotels, Barbados has it all.  When choosing where to stay there is no shortage of choices. Most offer all-inclusive packages, and your stay will be complete with friendly staff ready to meet your every need.

Here is a first timer’s take on Barbados:

We had an amazing time on our first trip to Barbados! We stayed at the Marriott and spent most of our beach time at the Coconut Court Beach. We ate dinner at Champers (twice!), the new Italian restaurant Buzo (twice!), Tapas, Blakey’s, Harlequin, Naru, and Café Sol. We had lunch at Sand Dunes, Chefette, Bliss Café, and most days on our beach chairs from the Coconut Court restaurant 🙂 We visited Mount Gay Rum and St Nicholas Abbey, tried surfing for the first time, rode the Number 11 minivan buses… 🙂 Amethyst2421 from TripAdvisor

Therefore, when choosing a location for a holiday destination, it is difficult to look too far beyond Barbados not only for its pristine, tropical atmosphere and white sandy beaches but because it is the ideal escape from everyday life, and a home away from home all in one.
