History Bridgetown is the largest town in Barbados and also the capital city of the island. Description Chattel houses are modest, wooden buildings, usually comprising of two small rooms, set on foundations of coral blocks. The roof of these houses are steep, and made of corrugated iron. Barbadian Folklore: The Steel Donkey

The Steel Donkey is essentially the Barbadian version of the Jamaican Rolling Calf.
