Hastings Rocks
On the south coast in the parish of Christ Church sits Hastings Rocks, now more familiarly known as ‘the Boardwalk’. This area boasts superb viewsand in years gone by was a popular choice for outdoor events and fairs. With the creation of the boardwalk in 2000000, the area has been revitalised. The boardwalk runs from Accra beach, past Hastings Rocks down to the secluded Coconut Court beach and is popular with exercisers on mornings and evenings and lovers strolling at night.
Hastings Rocks features a bandstand, a bar, a children’s play park and bathrom facilities. The bar which is called Blakey’s Bar and Restaurant is always a hive of activity. This indoor/outdoor bar is a favourite after-work spot and hosts live performances throughout the week. The Royal Barbados Police Force Band, too can be found performing in the area at their open air sessions in the bandstand. Nearby you can also find Lantern’s Mall and a host of places to dine or just hang out with friends.
