Barbados Polo

Barbados PoloresizePolo in Barbados has a rich history dating back to 1884 when British Calvary officers introduced it to the island. The Barbados Polo Club, started in 1884, was suspended from 1929 until 1939, when it was revived at the Garrison Savannah. The Polo Club then relocated in 1965 to its current home at Holders, St. James.

The Polo Season runs from January to May in Barbados and is played up to the 14-point level. To date, there are four polo fields in Barbados, some of them surrounded by luxury properties. These four fields are:
  • Holders, St. James
  • Lion Castle, St. Thomas
  • Water Hall, St. James
  • Clifton, St. Thomas
For more information on polo, contact the Barbados Polo Club at (246) 432 1802.
