Naniki Barbados Music Festival
Dates: 11th – 15th January

This music festival is probably the most anticipated event during the month of January, where, for 5 days, you can enjoy the best performances from the musicians. Each night has a different theme and will feature artists from Jamaica (Third World), Antigua (Asher Otto), the USA (Chrisette Michele) and of course Barbados ( Alison Hinds, among others). Tickets start from $70 BDS so get yours before you miss out on this amazing festival.
The Mount Gay Round Barbados Race Series at Barbados Cruising Club
Dates: 16th -24th January
Venue: Barbados Cruising Club, Aquatic Gap, Bay Street, St. Michael
The 81st instalment of this event will feature 3 days of coastal racing on the south and west coast and its most anticipated event, the Round Barbados Race on Errol Barry Day (the 21st). Racing yachts measure up to 180 inches in length and any skipper who breaks the record for this race wins the weight of their yacht…in rum! Bring the family out to this special event and see who will be the winner of the Round Barbados Race.
Laff It Off – We Like It So 2017
Dates: 28th and 29th January
Venue: Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St Michael

Laff it Off is one of the “miss it and blame yaself” events of 2017. This year, the 32nd edition of this event is themed “We Like it So”, with cast members for this year including Angelo Lascelles, Ishiaka McNiel, Janine White, Lowrey Worrell, Peta Alleyne and Toni-Ann Johnson. Disclaimer: These shows may get raunchy in places so…be prepared!
Breathtaking Wonders Tour
Dates: 3rd, 5th, 10th, 12th, 17th, 19th, 24th, 26th, 31st January
Venue: Harrison’s Cave and Earthworks Pottery
Looking for something to do for four straight hours on any of the above dates? Then, come out and partake in the Breathtaking Wonders Tour. First, explore the wonderful Harrison’s Cave and be amazed at its wonderful formations. Then head to Earthworks Pottery to see how talented Barbadian craftsmen transform simple clay into works of art and pottery.
Barbados Independent Film Festival
Dates: 11th – 15th January
Venue: The Barbados Museum & Historical Society, The Garrison, St. Michael
For all of you film buffs out there, this is just the event for you. This January marks the first edition of this event, which will feature a multiplicity of nightly events including filmmaker receptions, workshops and Question and Answer segments. It is the perfect opportunity for persons to connect with fellow film enthusiasts as well as fellow filmmakers. Contact The Barbados Museum & Historical Society at 427-0201 for further details.
Honey Jazz 2017 – Ladies Sing The Blues
Date: 28th January
Venue: Frank Collymore Hall, Spry St., Bridgetown
Start Time: 8:00pm
A spin off from the Honey Jam Brand, this event is a jazz themed evening featuring vocalists from Honey Jam Barbados, supported by young musicians from the 1688 Collective. Although the concert begins at 8, doors open from 7pm, with the red carpet from 6:30 pm. Also, following the concert, enjoy an after jazz lime where you can interact with fellow Jazz lovers. Come out and support this fundraising event in support of Barbadian artists.
Dinner with George
Dates: 09th, 16th, 23rd,30th January
Venue: George Washington House, The Garrison, St. Michael
Time: 7:00pm to 10:00pm
Take a step back in to 18th century Barbados by experiencing the sights, sounds and taste of that time when you dine at George Washington House. This re-enactment portrayals the exciting life of George Washington and his 6-week stay here in Barbados. This authentic evening is capped off with a delightful 5-course dinner which seats up to 29 persons to the soothing sounds of a violin and cello duet under illuminated candles and torches. The dinner is in association with The Barbados Garrison Historical Consortium Inc. and run every Monday until April 17th ,2017.

Like most of the great houses across the island, this property is a beauty with its double entrance staircase, spacious reception rooms and stunning gardens. Recently transformed into a house for modern living, this gem has still preserved it historical character and is open for you and your family to tour and explore.
Orchid World and Tropical Flower Garden Tour

The Barbados Golf Club and Courtesy Garage Barbados Ltd. starts their yearlong monthly medal tournament. This 18-hole, 6805-yard par 72 course, redesigned by Ron Kirby features gentle rolling hills and provides a challenging yet enjoyable game for golfers at levels. Join them each monthly for a stunning afternoon of great golf, delicious food and exciting prizes.
Flavours of Barbados Dinner and Cabaret Show at The Sea Rocks Dome
Dates: 03rd ,10th, 17th, 24th ,31st January

Every Tuesday night in January, Sea Rocks Dome, puts on an exciting Caribbean Dinner and Dance Extravaganza. The fee is all inclusive, covering transportation, Cabaret show, buffet dinner and unlimited drinks. It is an event suitable for all ages.
Barbados Cancer Society Charity Day at Polo Holders
Dates: 15th January
Venue: Holders Polo Gardens, St. James
Time: 2:00pm
Polo season in Barbados runs from January to May and the first game for the season is a Charity game “Polo for Prostate” cancer awareness. The first match starts at 3:30pm with the featured match at 4:30pm. There will be Tea and Dinner on sale as well as Door Prizes and Auctions, proceeds in aid of the Barbados Cancer Society.
